Home Business Work Opportunity – Secrets & Frustrations From the Dark Side of the Internet
0The trials & tribulations of a gullible, naive punter trying to start a home web business. A diary of mind-numbing frustration & 2,000 hours of “marriage crushing” research.
Researching a home business work opportunity has kept me up ’til midnight for more nights than I (or my wife) care to remember, over the past 2 years.
“Peter, you’re totally obsessed with starting your own web business”
… yep.
I reckon I have spent more than 2,200 hours on the internet, searching for the best option.
Finding the right home business work opportunity is definitely not as simple as I first thought.
If you’re considering starting your own web business at home, there are literally thousands to choose from and every man & his dog wants to sell you one.
Just go to Google & type in something like ‘internet business’ & brace yourself for the onslaught, there’s around 385 million web sites containing that term.
Won’t take you long to check them out will it?
During this period I purchased nearly 40 various home business work opportunities & money making systems & tools ranging in price from a couple of dollars to over a thousand dollars.
And I’ve sent most of them back for a refund (which I have received in every situation) simply because they did not do what I thought they would do, funny that!
One of the benefits of purchasing anything on the internet is the money back guarantees!
During my research I slowly but surely realized that there are three types of people selling anything you want to know about starting your own web business, they are -
Type #1 – The Scammer
The only money he’s ever made on the internet is through selling dreams. Creating desire with a fabulous looking website, irresistible graphics, scarcity tactics & gargantuan claims.
Type #2 – The Professional Boffin
The genuine nutty professor. Intelligent, knows his stuff and does actually make a full time living on the internet but almost impossible to learn from because teaching is just not his thing. He rabbits on endlessly trying to impress everyone with his nerdy techno babble. .. where’s a gun when you need one?
Type #3 – The Teacher
Successful internet marketers in that they have made their fortunes through legitimate, upfront internet businesses and are compelled to teach anyone who’ll listen, how to do it. That’s their calling!
So, lesson #1:
When searching for a home business work opportunity… find yourself a teacher. Give the guys with gold chains a swerve and avoid the ones with their cardigan buttons in the wrong holes.
Danger Will Robinson
I’m pushing 60 (years old) and I reckon I’ve been through quite a bit in my lifetime but I don’t think anyone is too for old starting your own web business.
A marriage breakup, I started a business from scratch, I purchased a second business that went bust but
” …nothing prepared me for the ongoing, mind-numbing frustration I experienced trying to educate myself on internet marketing”
I thought great, I’ll get a website up & earn some passive income, won’t take long.
… Wrong!
It’s a classic situation of 1 step forward & 2 (more likely 3) steps back.
Here’s how it goes.
You start researching a home business work opportunity and decide on a system that’s going to do the job, and you take the plunge & purchase it. You start following the instructions & you reach a point where you don’t understand something, and there’s a hell of a lot that you won’t understand, so you -
- Spend time searching forums trying to find an answer
- Post in forums and wait on a response
- Email the support desk & wait 2 or 3 days for a response
- Receive the response only to find they’ve misunderstood your question
- Email the support desk again & wait another 2 or 3 days
Searching for a home business work opportunity turned into the most frustrating “thing” I have ever attempted to do.
You’re so focused, excited, passionate, scared & anxious about starting your own web business & diving into a foreign world that you nothing about, and the very first time there’s a hiccup, you can’t get help.
Aaaaaaaaaaahh!
But a home business work opportunity is a terrific idea, so we press on.
Lesson #2:
So here’s some advice that I think you need to consider if you’re serious about an online business that will give you a passive income. And there’s nothing better than a passive income, you know, make money while you sleep! How much will an online business make? Dunno, read on. Here’s what I know.
In my opinion, there some great opportunities for starting your own web business but when evaluating a home business work opportunity you want a system that provides everything you’ll need like sales copy, email templates, a product to sell, graphics, research tools, pre-written articles and a website to upload it to.
And in my humble opinion, look for one with video tutorials so you learn by looking over an expert’s shoulder. Best to create a number of smaller, low-key websites with around 5 to 10 article pages each rather than one big site with hundreds of pages, like I did. The latter just becomes boring and, if you choose the wrong niche… well.
I reckon smaller sites will give you somewhere between $500 & $1,500 per month, not bad for sitting on your !
You also want a system that’s based on ‘organic traffic’ which is 100% free rather than paid traffic through the Google PPC network. The latter can be super expensive even if you’re an expert. And last but not least, when starting your own web business you want a proven, systematized business that runs on autopilot. Your perfect home business work opportunity IS out there, you just need to find it. So… What Next?

The Most Lucrative Data Entry Jobs
0Home typing jobs online are often confused with your 9-5 employer job typing up professional documents, however, in most cases that’s not what the job entails. The internet is a far cry from offline jobs and to a newcomer to the scene, it would be typical to confuse it as such. Most people that aren’t familiar with online work don’t know of the many different programs available nowadays. Most home typing jobs or data entry don’t require you to have professional typing or grammatical skills as those jobs rarely exist anymore. Even the ones that do are very hard to acquire online and one has to have impeccable skills, not just above average. Most jobs now are commonly ad submission jobs in which you are paid to post ads to various places on the web in order to promote online companies. These jobs are highly popular and very lucrative.
However, they are not to be confused with a get rich scheme. They are real jobs of self employment and are logical and realistic. There is a lot of controversy over them, mostly from people who are newbies and don’t quite know what to make of them. Only experienced marketers are familiar enough with them to determine they are legitimate jobs and should be taken as so. They are especially beneficial for stay at home parents, students and even someone who has a minor disability that keeps them in the home. It is a great way to save money on gas expenses and child care costs. These are two bills that can get very expensive for most people so it is a nice thing for most. Commonly, one can make in the range from $200-$500 a day in this field and even sometimes more with hard work, effort and consistency.
Because of it’s huge popularity, data entry has been the target of scam artists and fraudsters. Many of them make fake websites and pose as real employers. Some will also simply send out emails, claiming to be part of a real company that they are not really associated with. They do this in order to extract an admission fee from unsuspecting victims. This is definitely something people need to more aware of as this is becoming more common everyday. The companies suffer as well because not only do they end up losing money, they end up getting the bad rap for it. When seeking any type of online job, one should always do a fair amount of research. Make sure the company is legitimate and that he person to whom you’re corresponding with is actually a part of the company. Then you can be that much closer to having a highly lucrative career job in data entry.

Businesses From Home Take Time To
0Quitting and giving up is the greatest temptation I have seen and experienced during the first year of working at an internet business from home. Statistics show that the majority of the people that start an internet business do not achieve real success.
One of the primary reasons for this is that people get frustrated and do not allow themselves enough time to succeed. In the early going, one of the most difficult things about developing a new business from home is dealing with the emotional roller coaster that can result from the highs and lows that you will experience.
Once you have thoroughly researched your particular business from home opportunity, you really need to be focused on persistence and realize that any real business opportunity will not just automatically become successful in a matter of days or weeks. You should be prepared to give it your best sustained effort for up to a year before you will see any substantial progress and begin to see some good income.
When working at a home business; a person can, at times, experience a feeling of isolation which is probably brought on by the lack of interaction and gossip at the water cooler at your regular job.
There can also be periods of doubt in the early going. “Gee, did I pick the right business opportunity?” “Am I doing the right things to develop my business?” “When will I start making a profit?”, and on and on and on. You should realize that you have to send money ahead if you are going to be financially secure later in life. In other words, you are going to have to invest a little money into your business if you want to reach your dream.
Highs and lows is something that I encountered a great deal when I first started my Christian business from home. I was one of those who expected results in just a couple weeks or months. I got so frustrated I finally decided to contact my up-line sponsor to see if I could get any pointers to lead me in the right direction.
The first thing she told me was to realize that my feelings and frustrations were very normal. She told me to stay focused and not to give up for it took her up to a year to see any satisfying results.
She did let me in on a little secret which turned her business around dramatically. She told me about a site which offers exceptional mentoring. I checked out the site and, as recommended, I read the book Multiple Streams of Income by bestselling author, Robert Allen.
This book and the great mentoring program I am using has made a great impact on me in a relatively short period of time. It has energized me to the point that I know I will not lose my dream as long as I stay focused and don’t give up.
I often remember the following chronology, which I have posted in my office, describing the life of a man who had plenty of excuses for giving up: He failed in business in 1831, Defeated for Legislature in 1832, Failed again in business in 1832, Defeated for Speaker in 1838, Defeated for Elector in 1840, Defeated for Congress in 1843 and 1848, Defeated for Senate in 1855, Defeated for Vice President in 1856, Defeated for Senate again in 1858. But this man never quit. In 1860, he was elected the 16th President of the United States. He was, of course, Abraham Lincoln.
Hang in there and just keep focused on your goals. If you have chosen a viable home business opportunity (one that has been around for awhile and some other people are having success) you will achieve success, but it takes time and there will be ups and downs along the way.
Remember – When you make a definite decision, act upon it immediately. Do not hesitate. You will never get to second base with one foot still on first. Fear and faith can not live together in the same mind.

An Internet Business From Home For Newbies
0If you have been investigating the possibility of establishing an internet business from home, you may be concerned about creating a product. This is often a monumental challenge for newbies. Don’t get discouraged. You can build an excellent income marketing proven products owned by someone else.
Affiliate marketing is a simple business model that is particularly effective for beginners wishing to establish an internet business from home. Since you have no product production costs, starting your business will not create significant financial stress. The owner of the product has already invested in marketing tests, copywriting, and creating a website for the product. As an affiliate, you do not have to worry about customer service, inventory, order processing, or shipping. Best of all, joining an affiliate program is usually free. Your goal is simply to direct prospective customers to the merchants website.
Don’t worry if you lack sales and marketing experience. Most affiliate programs provide a comprehensive selection of tools and professionally written marketing materials for your use. Many merchants even provide brief tutorials and tips for effectively using these tools. Extraordinary affiliate support like this is a sign of a smart experienced merchant. Always consider the level of support for affiliates before choosing to market any product. More support means larger commission checks.
There are literally thousands of products and services with affiliate programs from which you may choose. Start with something that you know and love. Later you can diversify. In the beginning your enthusiasm and expertise will add an extra boost to your efforts while building your internet business.
After identifying your interest, search for affiliate programs with relevant products. Try to be specific. If you love dogs, choose a specific breed. Perhaps you are experienced with training, grooming, or special diets. Narrow your focus to increase your chances of success.
Build a simple website around this topic. This is just an information site. Most web hosts offer website building tools designed for newbies. There are also, plenty of free resources available on the internet to help you easily create your site. You will need a website to interact with your potential customers.
Because you are on the internet, you can easily find thousands of prospects. Offer free information, related to your product, in the form of articles, reports, or a newsletter. Exchange your free information in return for their email address. Once you have established yourself as trustworthy and knowledgeable, these prospects will be more likely to follow your recommendations and purchase your affiliate product.
Building any internet business will take time and considerable work. Affiliate marketing allows you to do so with minimal financial risk. At the same time, you will be learning the skill set necessary to someday develop your own product or service and successfully market it. You can generate a great income as an affiliate marketer and build a thriving internet business from home.

Get A Job
0• First, buy a good book on the subject of sales no matter what kind of job you want. From here on out you are a salesman, and if you forget this your job search will be much, much harder.
• Write a one page resume. I don’t mean a professional resume; I mean write a one-page reason someone should hire you. The more time you spend on it, the easier getting a job will be. As you do it, you should be honest and ask yourself why you would hire you.
• Study your resume, and write one sentence that sums it up. It can be something like: I should be hired because…
• Now look at your sentence. If it doesn’t tell a potential employer that hiring you will benefit them, start over.
Once you’ve summed up your usefulness, you need to find someone who needs you. No one ever got a job by sitting at home sending out resumes.
While not literally true, my point is that you’re far more likely to find work the old-fashioned way – by asking someone you know. If you have asked and still can’t find a job, you need more friends.
I’m not saying that to be funny. You need to go out and meet more people. You could go to leads groups and other such things, but these are already well-stocked with jobseekers. The same goes for job fairs. While there may be an opportunity to talk with a recruiter, you’ll be competing with 400 others who are all vying for the recruiter’s attention. By all means go to local job fairs, but don’t rely on them to find your next job.
Instead, go where you can do some good for yourself and for others. Volunteering at a nonprofit organization is a great way to meet leaders in the community – and they’re the ones who can hire you. (Think Better Business Bureau or Chamber of Commerce, both of which use volunteers.) Or, by going to a group like Toastmasters, you can increase your skill set, meet new people, and by the time you do find a job you’ll also be a better communicator.
Look for a low-cost community college where you live – or free online university courses – and take classes to help you to update yourself. They teach varied subjects which usually include computer skills, writing, and kung fu. Save the kung fu for last, unless you want a job that requires it.
At a job fair I was working, I met a middle-aged guy who had been unemployed for 23 months. Every day, Edward sent out a couple of resumes, scoured the want ads and did all of the usual things. When he approached my booth, he spoke nervously and was clearly uncomfortable. I invited him to lunch, and found that he was a smart guy, but he was no smarter on that day than he was two years earlier when he lost his job. He hadn’t done anything to increase his abilities for two years.
When I suggested he take a speaking class, his eyes lit up and he asked where to find one. He had never considered using his time to make himself more attractive to potential employers.
I found out that one of his biggest fears was public speaking and that he had always avoided situations and jobs that would require it. Here’s some good news. I am certain that by practicing public speaking, you will lose your fear of it, and your overall self-confidence will increase.
Edward is the reason I wrote this chapter of Everyone Has A Boss. I worried that he may have lost out in interviews to other candidates who had a better presence – something he might have changed a year ago if only he’d thought to do so. The point is this: Use your time wisely. Spend less time praying and hoping, and more time learning a new skill. Figure out what would make you a better candidate and go learn to do it. If you’re an architect, learn the latest software. If you’re a steamroller operator, learn to drive a tractor-trailer. If you’re a residential electrician, study the building codes for commercial work, and find out how to become licensed. Doing this doubles the number of companies that will hire you.
Whatever you do to gain new skills will make you more desirable as an applicant.
TO GET AN INTERVIEW
• Meet more people, and ask everyone you know for a job referral.
• Go to a company and ask Human Resources in person. Don’t ask what they can do for you – figure out what you can do for them, then tell them what it is.
• Stop being picky. The employer doesn’t offer benefits? The pay isn’t what you are used to? So what? Take the interview anyway and see where it goes. You can always turn down an offer if you get one.
They may like you so much that they offer you a job they didn’t know they were hiring for. Use your sales skills.
TO ACE THE INTERVIEW
• If you get an interview, you’d better know what the company does. If your first question is “So, what do you guys do here, anyway?” you probably aren’t getting the job. Use the internet to learn about them, their products, and their goals.
• Remember your resume statement about how hiring you will benefit them? Say it over and over. They want to know that they will make more money with you than they’ll make without you.
• Offer to work for free. You don’t have a job now, so why does it matter? (They won’t actually let you work for free.) But if you offer to work for a reduced rate you can let them test-drive you. If they don’t like your performance, they’ll dismiss you. But if they do, you get a raise. (This will be more effective at smaller companies.)
• Do you know the expression about first impressions? It’s true: You only get one opportunity to make a good first impression.
While that snake-and-skull tattoo may be a big hit at parties, it’s probably telling your potential employer that you aren’t the kind of person who thinks ahead. While this may be an unfair assessment, baby bunnies are eaten by hawks and how fair is that?
Let them get to know you as you first. Cover up the tats, take out the nose ring, and get a haircut.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
You may have noticed that I left out any mention of attitude. I did this because we all cringe when we hear that word. Our second-grade teacher talked about how bad our attitude was, or our parents did, or the warden, or the ex-wife. Whenever we hear “attitude,” we seem to tune it out, knowing that a lecture is coming. Well, here’s the lecture:
• If you think it’s going to , it will.
• If you think it’ll be great, it will.
• If you think you can, you’re right.
• If you think you can’t, you’re right.
• If you think you won’t get the job, you won’t.
And I absolutely cannot say this loudly enough: The way you picture an outcome is the way it’s most likely to turn out. I’ve included a collection of some of the common errors made by job-seekers and what to do to avoid them.
• Listen to the recruiter or interviewer. They already know what they’re looking for. Pay attention to what they say, and then you can tell them how you fit their requirements.
(No man ever listened himself out of a job. Calvin Coolidge)
• When submitting a resume in response to a job posting, remember that they usually do a keyword search of the resumes for the exact terms they posted.
Use their own phrases in your resume to improve the likelihood that HR will select yours to look at. If the job posting at CNN is looking for a “battle-hardened photographer,” and you have these qualifications, state that you are a “battle-hardened photographer”.
And yes, this means that your resume is personalized for each submission, because the Kiddie Photo store in the mall may not consider “battle-hardened” a likable trait.
• Be prepared to start today. I hear a lot of job seekers respond to the question “And when would you be able to start?” with “Well, next week I’m going to Cancun with my sister Jane, and the week after my parents are flying in from Dallas so I could probably start after that.” The correct answer is “This afternoon.” If you really want a job, you may have to re-arrange your life a little bit – so be ready for that.
• Stick to using words you’re familiar with. A thesaurus is a blessing if you already know a word and can’t find it, but an absolute curse if you think “I have a lot of sales experience” sounds dumb and you search the internet for smarter words. A simple sentence becomes an execution: “I comprise many familiarities with facilitating the procurement of products by consumers.” This linguistic nightmare doesn’t make you seem smarter. In fact it may do the opposite – whatever the word for that is.
• Pay attention to your appearance. I’m talking about the impression that you’re giving more than what you’re wearing. (Of course if you only have one suit and it’s from two different Easters, then maybe a nice shirt and slacks is better.) If you want a job as an engineer do you seem like an engineer? A white shirt with a pocket protector may seem nerdy to you, but to the interviewer you may look like their dream candidate.
Quick story. I do estimates for my fence company. I used to do them in dress slacks and a button up shirt and was fairly successful.
One time though, I had come from a construction site wearing a hard hat and came in my work truck. The first words the customer said were “Wow! You look exactly like I thought you should.” Since then, I always wear the hardhat and my closing rate has gone up 40%. Is it a coincidence? I don’t think so.
I LOOK like I know what I’m talking about (which of course I do), and that’s what customers (and employers) want. They want to feel confidence in the person they hire. Remember, it isn’t always the most qualified who gets the job, it’s the best presentation.
• When an interviewer is asking about your qualifications, refrain from saying, “I can do everything.” The want to know specifically what your skills are and how those skills apply to the company. But be brief, and don’t forget to include intangible skills such as “a great phone voice,” or “One of my hobbies is playing chess, so that helps me to always be thinking ahead.” Those are much more useful statements than “I think outside the box.”
• Don’t lose hope, because when you do you unconsciously display a negative and desperate vibe. Employers hire optimists, and you want to avoid approaching an interview with the attitude that “you probably won’t get this job.” It shows.
I know it’s easy to become discouraged, but doing so is detrimental to your job hunt. At the end of a long day of interviews, be sad if you’d like, but get up the next morning with your enthusiasm intact and go bravely into the fray.

Now You Can Work From Home With No Upfront Investment
0Can you really work from home with no upfront investment? Would you make enough money to support yourself and your family? When most of us think of starting a business, we think of creating a business plan then going to the bank and applying for a small business loan. To get the loan, we have to risk a large chunk of our own money. The statistics on small businesses are bleak. Most don’t make it through the first year and the rest don’t even make a profit until the fifth. It’s tough to imagine spending that much time, money and effort on something that doesn’t turn out as you hoped.
If there was a business in which you could work from home with no upfront investment, would it be worthwhile? Do you think you could make money? Would you put as much time and energy into it as if it cost thousands of dollars to start? If you answered yes to these questions, let me introduce you to affiliate marketing.
What if you could start a business with no upfront investment, and you didn’t have to worry about inventory, making sales calls, processing sales or returns or anything like that. All you have to do is concentrate on marketing a product to people who are eagerly searching for it. That in a nutshell is affiliate marketing. With an affiliate marketing business you can work from home with no upfront investment. You have the perfect location and you can commute in your bedroom slippers.
When you become an affiliate marketer, you sign on as a partner with a company. You sell an established product and the company pays you when you make a sale. The main way you get sales is by directing prospective customers to the website of the company. You don’t even need your own website, just a computer and internet connection. You also need the discipline that it takes to work at home and the determination to put in the time and effort needed to make it work.
For no upfront investment, the income potential is amazing. You decide if you want to make $2,000 a month or $2,000 a day. Once you set your income goal, you then determine what it would take to get enough people to that merchant website to make that much income. The companies you partner with will assist you in any way they can. The more people you send to them, the more money everybody makes. Companies would be insane not to use the power of affiliate marketing to increase their sales. Having hundreds or thousands of affiliates out trying to sell their products in markets that they might not have thought of or been able to tap in to is a great way to stretch advertising dollars.
Affiliate marketing is hard work, but it works if you work it. Steer clear of people and programs that tell you that it is easy, that all you need to do is sit back and watch the money come rolling in.

Real Work At Home Jobs – 10 Simple Thoughts To Getting Started
0First things first, let me start by telling you what I think the term real work at home jobs means. I am at home working at my real job, which is just happens to be creating my own business. You can define it any way you like, but I do have a “real work at home jobs”, and I call it my business. In most instances, when you find something that claims to be a work at home job, more than likely, you are being pointed in the direction of starting your own business. It just takes some work to get going, but you will find out the rewards are great and it is much more satisfying than working for someone else.
It really is easy to get started. I have been working at home for a while now, and I am not going to claim that I am a millionaire, because I am not, not yet anyways. I do hope to get there someday. Here are a few things I learned along the way that may help you get started.
1) Do not expect to get rich overnight, this will not happen unless you win the lottery.
2) If you want to make$1000/day you can, but have realistic expectations, it’s not going to happen on your first day.
3) You can find legitimate work at home jobs, you just have to do some research first.
4) Real work at home jobs do exist, but you would make far more money by starting your own online business because then it would not feel like a job.
5) Read, read, and read some more. This is very important. You can never learn to much new information and things are always changing.
6) Do not try to reinvent the wheel. Learn from others what they already know and you will get there much faster. Forums are a great place for help.

Work From Home Typing Jobs – Online Typing Jobs & Where to Find Them
0Are you one of the thousands of people searching for online typing jobs that will allow you to work from home? If so, you have probably seen many scams. If you are beginning to wonder if there even is such a thing, let me assure you there is. Here is some information you need to find the work you are looking for!
In the last few years, the internet has exploded with opportunities. This is why you will see more and more scams. People try to make money with programs that are simply worthless. Don’t despair – there are real work from home typing jobs out there. Whether you want to work for yourself and be your own boss or work for an actual employer, there are options.
Here are a few tips about online typing jobs, and how to avoid scams.
1. Any site that promises thousands of dollars a week or month is something you want to stay away from.
2. To make money from home, you will have to work. Nothing is free in this world, online or off.
3. Check the credibility of the site out. If you come across an opportunity that looks genuine, check to see how long they have been in business. Also look for a guarantee if there is a charge, and make sure there is an email address to contact the company.
4. Be aware that there are legitimate work from home opportunities that charge a one time fee. Many people believe that if there is a fee involved, that it is a scam. This isn’t always true. Some sites charge a one time membership fee. This fee allows the site to provide online help to you, software to perform your job if needed, and updating the database with current employers.
This information should help you differentiate between real jobs and opportunities that may be scams.
Work from home typing jobs can also include self employment work. If you are a good writer, there are ample opportunities to write for other people and make as much money as you want to make! By becoming a freelance or ghost writer, you can write articles and web content for other webmasters on various topics.
If you choose to work for an employer doing online typing jobs, there are various forms of work available. Transcription, coding, editing and web design are a few options you have to choose from. You can also be paid to place ads for big online companies. If someone makes a purchase from the ad you placed, you get paid a good commission.
